Film­ Industry

One of the core specialties of our partnership has long been the tax law support of film and television productions, especially in the area of so-called “independents” with the feature films, documentaries and mixed formats they produce for the German and international theater and TV market. Here, we offer competent tax law support tailored to the specific needs, from the development stage (including international co-productions) to support in obtaining financing from banks, subsidies or private investors, all the way to exploitation. The knowledge of the relevant workflows in the field of film and television as well as the corresponding understanding of the special requirements of these media characterize the close cooperation with our clients.

Our clients also include well-known (screenplay) authors, directors, actors and other artistic and media-oriented professionals such as photographers, architects and journalists. Here, of course, we also offer professional business and tax-optimized support. For example, in the tax treatment of copyrights (licenses, exploitation rights, etc.), the taxation of foreign income, in answering questions about the artists’ social security fund and much more.
